Terms of Service
The rules for using Speedometer.top: staying safe on the road, how far to trust a GPS reading, and the limits of our liability.
Last checked · By Speedometer.top
By opening a page or a tool on Speedometer.top you agree to the terms below. If you would rather not, the answer is simply not to use the site. How we handle data is described in our privacy notice, which forms part of these terms.
The service
Speedometer.top is a free speedometer and speed converter that work in your web browser, together with guides on measuring speed by GPS. Speeds shown come from your device's own reading or are calculated from changes in position. Treat them as a guide: the site is not a calibrated or certified instrument.
Accuracy
GPS readings can be wrong, sometimes badly, especially near tall buildings, under trees, in tunnels, on devices without a GPS receiver, or with a weak signal. Readings are delayed slightly and can be interrupted when the page is in the background. Do not rely on Speedometer.top where an incorrect reading could cause harm or loss, and do not treat it as evidence of your speed in any legal or insurance matter.
The speed alert is a convenience reminder. It may fail to sound, sound late, or be silenced by your device's settings, and it is not a safety system.
Acceptable use
Personal, work and commercial uses are all welcome as long as they are lawful. We only ask that you do not:
- rely on it in any way that breaks road traffic law or puts people at risk,
- try to disrupt, flood or break into the site or the servers behind it,
- copy the site wholesale and present it as your own,
- use it for anything that is illegal where you are.
Trademarks
iPhone, Android, Safari, Chrome and other product names appear in our guides because they tell you which steps fit your device. They are trademarks of the companies that own them. None of those companies sponsors, endorses or works with Speedometer.top.
Availability
The site is free, and we cannot promise it will always be online. Features may be changed, paused or withdrawn at any time and without warning. Updates to browsers and phone software can also change how location works on a particular device.
Provided as is
Everything here is provided as is. We make no warranty, express or implied, that the tools are accurate, fit for a particular purpose, free of bugs, or free of third-party claims.
Liability
To the extent the law permits, we are not liable for any loss linked to your use of the site, including fines, collisions, damage, lost data or lost earnings, whether or not an inaccurate reading played a part. Some places do not allow this kind of exclusion; where that is the case, it does not apply to you.
Changes to these terms
When we change these terms, the date at the top changes with them. Carrying on using the site after a change means the updated terms apply.
